What has started to happen is since the first time she took it home, any time she opens an excel file from the network, she is limited to one. She has a good internet connection from home as well. This is something we do across the company and have not had issues at all. She has started working from home as she has moved into this position not that long ago and has had to VPN into our network from home. She is connected via Ethernet to the network and not WiFi. This is a laptop but it is a powerful one and not something that can't handle having many items open. She has had upwards of 7-8 excel documents open at once from the network and never had an issue before. We have a user that is one of our estimators and she opens a lot of files from our network. Has anyone else have excel freeze and require a restart to use again just from opening files from the network? But that is another issue which may lead to the current one which is more pressing. They would prefer you use onedrive or sharepoint. We did a little research and found that excel doesn't fully support opening from network drive. We have rooted that issue down to multiple people trying to access it. We have ran into issues with Excel randomly freezing at least twice a week when opening files from a network drive.
